Loki Episode 3 Confirms The MCU Character Is Bisexual

After Episode 3 of the Disney+ series, the trickster god character played by Tom Hiddleston has been confirmed as the first bisexual character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This comes after it was confirmed ahead of the show’s premiere that .

In the episode, “Lamentis,” Loki has an exchange about lovers with (Sophia Di Martino), a variant of the titular trickster. “How about you?” she asks him. “You’re a prince. Must have been would-be-princesses. Or perhaps another prince.” Loki responds, “A bit of both. I suspect the same as you.” Still, they agree that neither has known true love.

If that’s not enough confirmation, Loki director Kate Herron explained the decision on Twitter after the episode premiered. “From the moment I joined [Loki] it was very important to me, and my goal, to acknowledge Loki was bisexual,” she . “It is a part of who he is and who I am too. I know this is a small step but I’m happy, and heart is so full, to say that this is now Canon in [The MCU.]”

Looking forward, there is expected to be more LGBTQ+ representation in the MCU. It was previously revealed by Eternals star Haaz Sleiman that that film will include the franchise’s first same-sex kiss, between his character and Phastos (Bryan Tyree Henry). “It’s a beautiful, very moving kiss,” the actor told . “Everyone cried on set. For me it’s very important to show how loving and beautiful a queer family can be.”
